For the past few days Beth has been playing with our keyboard. Today she announced she wanted to really learn how to play it. We purchased a book and CD last year, so we pulled it out. She just spent the last 30 or so minutes watching and practicing. She actually played "Mary Had A Little Lamb" rather well.
Anyway, she just came in the office and said, "Piano is hard!"
I told her, "It is hard but that is why you need to practice; even Ms. Trish still practices".
"Why? She already know it all!"
So, there you have it, Trish... stop practicing so much! You already know everything you need to know!! :)
Isn't it funny how we see that someone can do something and think that they don't have to work at it. So many time we take the talent and HARD work people do for granted. I want to say a

Oh Beth, I am so proud of you!!! I want to hear you play Mary Had A Little Lamb. I bet it sounds great! Playing the piano is like riding a bike -- it is a bit hard in the beginning, but just keep on practicing and you'll get it! I still practice every day. For each church service there are about 17 songs you need to have ready. The prelude is about 10 songs, 3 hymns to sing, something for handshake time, an offertory, the music special, an invitation song and a closing song. If it is Lord's Supper day, we add 4 more, but they are usually the same songs so that makes it easier. I practice about an hour a day for church music and an hour a day for the weddings coming up. When you are just starting, you should do about 15 or 20 minutes a day. If you need any help, let me know! I am so excited to have another piano player in the church!!! Hooray for Beth and her pretty little piano-playing fingers!!!
And to Deb, Thank you for your kind words! I really enjoy playing the piano at our church. I can't wait 'til Beth can be up there playing too!
I second the motion, thanks Trish!
