A Fun Day and A Date

Today we went on the home school field trip to the Sci Tech Museum; it was a blast! Thanks Julie for a wonderful day!! We all really enjoyed it.

After this I had a VERY special date. Jim is working and Beth is at a friend's house, so Kyle and I went on a dinner date. It was very nice spending time alone with him as that does not happen usually.
Kyle's favorite spot for today!

How could anyone NOT take pictures of this cute little man!

Just a Quick Note

Hi all!

Pastor's School is awesome! Both nights were incredible with lots of singing, a testimony, honoring different people, and of course, great preaching. Kyle, Tyler, Joey, Tabitha, and Ashley all attended the teen classes and honestly, I haven't had time to talk to them about it. It is strange having them there and not being with them. Jim and I went to the marriage counseling class this afternoon and learned more about forgiveness. He said some things that really make you realize how we see each other. Well, I am off to bed, the nights go fast!

A Fun Time

I was able to drive the girls on this event. They were all well behaved and it was a delight to spend some time with them.

We had a large group!
Sweet friends; it is nice to see the girls develop friendships with one another.
And of course, we can't forget the boys; this group actually let me take their picture!
A big dessert!!! It started off with a sparkler on top as it was brought to the table.
They ate every bit of it!!

What We Have Been Up To...

The past week or so...

We have all be busy trying to get school work done. Kyle has been doing great, but Beth has been sick since the 3rd with a cold and it was really bad. She was doing her work, but not as well as she usually does. On Thursday last week I stopped at Barnes and Nobles Bookstore and got Beth a new workbook. She did the entire workbook I purchased a few months ago and this book seems like just what she needs and it is 4th grade, so she feels like she is doing well. (Which of course she is!)

We are currently working on the human body. Beth still hates it, but I really think it is something they should learn. So we focused on a little bit of everything last week and then moved to the bones. I want to go through each system; I really like this stuff as I had to learn so much during college for Physical Therapy Assisting. We watched one of the Moody Bible Institutes DVD that we borrowed from the church's home school library and Kyle and I thought it was GREAT! (Beth doesn't like anything that is real when it comes to the body... and there was a real heart...very awesome)

Kyle is still thinking about his science fair project, but Beth already knows (and has known for about 2 weeks) what she wants to do.

I have been getting things done around the house, reading a book and studying my Bible more. It is really strange; right as I started teaching the teen girl's Sunday School class, I started really working on a couple areas myself (you know those kinds of things that are nagging at ya here and there). So, I have really been doing "double studying". Where did that time come from?? I hate to admit it, but the busier I am the more I can get done with my walk with God, my family, and my house. I know I only have so much time, so I am just using it better. Actually, I have very little time for anything else and I know I am actually doing what God wants me to do. I honestly feel like I am completely where I should be and that is a nice feeling.

Also, on top of all that, Jim's schedule COMPLETELY has been changed. It has been quite an adjustment over the past.....week! Oh, I just looked at the date and I really thought it was SO much longer ago. If any of you don't know, Jim is working a 24 hour shift now, plus the management part, and he is still doing the treasury work at church. Bless his heart; he is working so hard. I have been really proud of him, not that I wasn't before, but he just keeps goings without complaints and is just doing what needs to be done.

The kids really dislike him being gone for 24 hours at a time every third day; Kyle was too little to remember it so many years ago. We know that God is in control of this and has stamped "OK" on it, but we still know that we need His wisdom and prayers to adjust. On that note, please pray that everyone would adjust to this.

Well, tonight is family night and Jim will be home very soon. Have a great evening!!

Illegal to Home School

California court rules parents can not home school their children:

Petition to sign to urge California courts to limit this ruling to just the family it was against rather than all the California home schooling families.

This decision will affect the 200 THOUSAND home schooled children in California and could possibly affect the 2.4 MILLION home schooled children in our country.

Ladies Conference

Wonderful! That is always the best way to describe the Ladies Conference!!! Julie did a great job again and as always with organizing every detail. I really enjoyed Mrs. Ogle; she is very funny and gave a wonderful testimony.

Just being silly, she didn't have the flowers on for long!
And to wrap up the day, we went to see Jeremy's ordination. What a wonderful young man he is. I am so glad that Kyle has him for an example.
